Summer finally came out to play

I realize that summer has been in full effect for many parts of the country for quite some time. However, Southern California has been in a bit of a weird funk. We’ve been waking up in the morning to overcast, marine layer 60′s that occasionally burn off later in the day (but more often we’ve been left with the cloudy mid-60′s funk into the evening). Nobody seems to be able to explain what’s going on with the weather, chalk it up to global warming if you want, but just this past week we have started to see some clear 70-80 degree days – summer is back!

Christmas in February

Re-booking flights isn’t always easy, but this time around we got lucky. You normally have to ATLEAST pay a fee to rebook a flight you cancel. Typically it’s about $100 per ticket, but SJ called to talk to to the good peeps at Alaska Airlines and after a little shuffling of the paperwork managed to get the fee waived and get us upgraded to first class with out even having to pay a re-booking fee (I know, amazing right?!).
