Cooper comes home

Just posted another quick round of pics, but wanted to thank everyone (again) for all of the support! Cooper has been doing great since he as been home, and even slept in solid three hour chunks last night! He’s still a little night/day confused (sleeps during the day, and wants to be awake at night) but for the most part he is doing great! I’ll be sure to keep everyone posted, but for now – enjoy the pictures!

Cooper Bennett Paquin!

A warm welcome for Cooper Bennett Paquin! Born 03/01/2011 at 7:30am at St. Johns Hospital in Santa Monica. Weighing in at 7lb, 7oz he mom both did a GREAT job and had what all of the nurses called a “text book” birth.

For those that were following us on Facebook/Twitter, thanks so much for all of you faith and support – it means the world to us! We just posted more pics in the gallery section of the site, and out good friend Tessa was kind enough to take some additional pictures as well.

Filling the nursery

Sorry for the delay since our last post – it’s been a little busy over here as we get settled into the new place. We’ve been spending quite a bit of time emptying boxes, finding cabinet space for things, hanging stuff on the walls, and last but not least … cleaning out the babies room to make room for some new furniture!

SJ has been enjoying prenatal yoga on Saturdays and is definitely starting to feel the aches and pains of pregnancy more as we get close to the official kickoff of the third trimester. We can feel the baby kicking and moving all over the place now, and it’s exciting to know that he can hear our voices now and listen when we talk and read stories to him (although, less exciting when he decides to start into his jumping jack routine at 3am).

House hunting continues

Santa Monica is an interesting market to be renting in. Based on the proximity to the beach, and the lack of land for new development, most of the apartments are older (circa 1950/60) and leave most of the modern amenities lacking.

We’ve looked at over 35 places, inquired on well over 50, and viewed over 100 online. We haven’t seen a single place with all of the items. No joke, in fact I think we’ve only seen one place with a washer/dryer in the unit and it was GHETTO. Places in Santa Monica get “beach breezes” so AC is out on 99% of the places as well (I don’t think we’ve seen a single unit with it).
